What's
the job?
We're looking for a Head of Tax to lead ICAS's work on tax policy and technical support for members in practice, with a focus on Owner Managers Businesses, Employment Taxes and VAT. This role plays a key part in delivering member satisfaction and shaping the impactful policy in the public interest.
Who do we need?
An experienced tax professional with extensive technical expertise and a passion for policy development. You'll be confident working independently and collaboratively across teams, including Public Affairs, Practice and Tax Technical Policy. You'll also be comfortable representing ICAS externally and engaging with stakeholder such as HMRC.
You'll be a skilled communicator, able to translate complex tax issues into clear, accessible insights for members and stakeholders. Your well-developed influencing skills will be key in helping to shape policy positions, leading discussions with HMRC and other bodies, and ensuring ICAS's voice is heard, impactful in the wider tax landscape.
Some Principal Accountabilities
Develop and manager tax technical resources and support for ICAS members
Lead tax policy initiatives and consultation responses
Representing ICAS and its members in stakeholder meetings, including with HMRC
Manage relevant tax committees, panels, and working groups
Contribute technical input to wider ICAS public affairs and governance activities
