The Opportunity
Barnsley College is seeking an inspirational Head of Teaching and Learning Excellence to lead innovation and drive a culture of outstanding teaching, training, and learning across the College. In this role, you will champion high-quality teaching, training and assessment, ensuring exceptional student outcomes and satisfaction. You will lead the Teaching, Learning and Digital Innovation teams, working collaboratively with senior leaders and departments to embed a learner-centric, high-performance culture.
Your responsibilities will include:
Driving improvements in teaching, training, learning and assessment across all provision types.
Leading professional development, teacher induction, and digital transformation initiatives.
Developing strategies to ensure the College remains inspection-ready and achieves outstanding results.
Supporting innovation in pedagogy and the use of technology to enhance learning experiences.
This is a strategic leadership role where you will make a significant impact on the quality of education and the success of thousands of learners.
About You
You will be an experienced and visionary educational leader with:
A relevant degree and formal teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent).
Significant experience in FE teaching/training and improving teaching and learning to an exceptional level.
Proven ability to lead staff development and use technology creatively to enhance learning.
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
A management qualification and experience of Ofsted inspections are desirable.
