Champion, Blossom and Virtue Therapeutic Children's Homes provide nurturing residential care for children who have experienced trauma. Our children often have a range of needs, ranging from social, emotional and mental health needs to learning difficulties. As we grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Therapy to lead our therapeutic services, manage a small team of therapists, and drive the successful implementation of our home's model of care.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Practice
To deliver direct therapy to children and young people within the home, using recognised, evidence-based models.
Act as the lead therapeutic practitioner, providing expert consultation and guidance on complex cases to the care team.
Be responsible for the governance of the home's therapeutic services, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficacy.
Proven experience and competence in using therapeutic frameworks, with experience in the PACE model (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) being highly desirable.
Management & Supervision
Manage and supervise a team of Therapists, providing regular clinical and managerial supervision, support, and professional development.
Oversee workload allocation and service delivery planning for the therapy team.
Conduct performance reviews and support the recruitment and induction of new therapy staff as needed.
Model of Care Oversight
Take responsibility for the oversight and embedment of the home's therapeutic model of care across all aspects of the children's residential homes.
Work collaboratively with Registered Managers and care staff to ensure consistency between the therapeutic approach and the daily running of the homes.
Develop and deliver training to care staff on trauma-informed practice and therapeutic strategies.
Administration & Compliance
Maintain accurate and detailed records in line with professional and organisational requirements.
Contribute to risk assessments, care planning, and the regular review process for each child.
Ensure all therapeutic practice adheres to relevant professional codes of conduct (e.g., HCPC, UKCP, BACP) and regulatory requirements from Ofsted.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Recognised professional qualification (e.g., Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, Play Therapist, Creative Art Therapist, Psychotherapist) and current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., HCPC, UKCP, BACP).
Significant post-qualification experience working therapeutically with children and young people who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences within a residential care setting.
Previous experience of managing and providing clinical supervision to other therapists or staff.
Understanding and applying trauma-informed care principles and experience in the Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) PACE model.
Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
This post will require regular travel to our homes nationwide, alongside attendance at meetings when required. The successful candidate will be required to fulfil the travel requirements of the role.
