Job summary
The Head of Transport is a senior management role sitting within the Cambridge Growth Company (CGC), a subsidiary of Homes England.
The Cambridge Growth Company (CGC) has been established to help deliver the Government's ambition for growth in Cambridge. Its mission is to unlock Greater Cambridge's full potential by delivering new homes, jobs, and associated infrastructure to support economic growth across the region. Job description
This role will be responsible for leading the strategic integration of transport and spatial growth planning across the Greater Cambridge area. This pivotal role will shape the future of mobility whilst addressing the current transport issues, ensuring sustainable, inclusive, and efficient transport systems are delivered that support the region's ambitious growth agenda, helping to drive forward the Government's ambitious vision for Cambridge.
This is a rare chance to work for an organisation which is uniquely positioned to shape the future of place-based housing delivery and regeneration in Cambridge. Working with influential stakeholders, you will support our experienced team in driving delivery of a range of complex workstreams.
Person specification
You will be a seasoned professional in transport planning, engineering or infrastructure delivery, with a well-established leadership profile and a history of driving impactful change.
You will have a strong awareness and understanding of the key current Government policies and priorities on transport, planning regulations and influencing policy at a strategic level, funding mechanisms, the contribution of Homes England and more specifically the Cambridge Growth Company, to delivering these.
You will need to have a degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or closely related field, along with chartered status (e.g., CEng, TPP) or equivalent professional accreditation.
As a subsidiary of Homes England, all roles within the CGC will be aligned to Homes England's expected behaviours and values.
