We are looking for a Head of Waste & Resource Management to join our Infrastructure team based in Leavesden, Hertfordshire. You will be the subject matter expert for waste, excavated materials, contaminated land and circular economy principles and lead Skanska in its aspiration to generate zero avoidable waste through reducing upfront demand, reusing materials whenever possible and recycling or down-cycling.
What you'll do:

  • Lead and develop the WARM team by setting clear objectives, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture and promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Drive change and assess existing, new and forthcoming market trends, policy, legislation, standards and guidance and their potential impact on the business.
  • Manage/maintain processes, procedures, guidance and forms in line with existing, new and forthcoming policy, legislation, standards and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders and influence inter-industry and regulatory bodies on waste, excavated materials and contaminated land requirements for the benefit of a sustainable future at Skanska.
What you'll bring to the role:
  • Degree level in appropriate Waste, Sustainability or Environmental discipline or relevant experience
  • Chartered Resources & Waste Manager (CRWM / MCIWM)
  • CL:AIRE DoWCoP Qualified Person
  • Values driven and passionate about waste and resource management, the circular economy and contaminated land
  • Previous construction industry experience or relevant waste or contaminated land experience in a similar sector
  • Proven track record of leading, developing and managing waste and/or sustainability teams.
