Head of Year & Teacher

Pay Scale:

MPS/UPS + TLR2C

Herne Bay High School is looking for an inspiring Head of Year to lead a year group of around 260-270 students, helping them achieve their best academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a role for a dynamic leader who can motivate, guide, and support students and staff alike.

What You'll Do

Provide

utstanding pastoral leadership, ensuring every student feels valued, safe, and supported Lead and inspire a dedicated team of mentors and support staff Promote excellent attendance, behaviour, and engagement across the year group Support vulnerable learners, including those in care, on Pupil Premium, with SEND, or requiring additional support Deliver assemblies, year group sessions, and enrichment activities Build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues Maintain accurate records for behaviour, safeguarding, and interventions Contribute to whole-school initiatives and policies
