Head Of Zurich Community Trust (part Time, Job Share, Full Time)

Swindon, United Kingdom

Job Description

Job Title: Head of Zurich Community Trust (Part-Time, Job-Share, Full-Time)

Location: Flexible

Closing date for applications: 18th September

Date of interviews: First round 25th-29th September

At Zurich, we are committed to supporting every employee to progress in their careers and therefore encourage internal moves through a transparent posting and selection process. In the spirit of transparency, if you\'re invited to interview, we also ask you to inform your current line manager about your application.

The opportunity:

As one of the first ever corporate foundations, Zurich Community Trust (ZCT) has been supporting the community and helping to improve the lives of vulnerable people, since 1973. The opportunity to lead a charity in the top 5% of UK charities by income does not come along very often and due to retirement we are looking for our next leader. The Head of ZCT needs to be comfortable working with the Board of Trustees to ensure the aims of the Trust come first, always. If you\'re passionate about the role charities play in society today, are a strategic thinker, great communicator and leader and want to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people across the UK, then this might be just the role for you.

Many of our employees work flexibly in a variety of different ways, including part-time, flexible hours, job share, an element of working from home or compressed hours. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren\'t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

What will you be doing?

  • Bringing thought leadership of the charity sector and a deep understanding of the role that ZCT plays in communities to help the Board to shape and refresh our strategy.
  • Ensuring that ZCT is run for maximum efficiency to enable ZCT\'s charitable interventions to be as effective as possible, with the highest levels of impact across diverse communities. This will include the consideration of using data to drive better decisions and seeking out ways to continually improve the operating environment.
  • Outstanding governance of the Trust - covering everything from our finances and accounts, to adherence with the relevant regulatory codes to managing the risks that the Trust faces.
  • Leadership of the Trust team; inspiring employees to do their best for the Trust; and maintaining a close working relationship with the global Z Zurich Foundation.
  • Being a vocal and proud ambassador for the Trust; whether that\'s within the voluntary sector or with Zurich\'s own employees to encourage engagement and participation.
What are we looking for?

We\'re looking for someone who is knowledgeable about the voluntary sector, passionate about making a difference to people\'s lives and has a desire to lead the Trust into its next chapter, ensuring we\'re diverse, equitable, inclusive and sustainable. As society changes, ZCT needs to evolve, so we\'re keen to speak to creative people with a track record of innovation. If this sound like the role for you, and you can demonstrate your ability to build great networks and work with a myriad of internal and external stakeholders, we want to hear from you!

To be successful and thrive in this role, we believe you\'ll need to have a high level of financial acumen, with an interest in investment management, and be competent at managing complex governance arrangements. You\'ll also need to be comfortable presenting to a wide range of internal and external audiences, including regulators, sector-wide audiences, media representatives, and Government policy makers and departments

What happens next?

First stage interviews will take place week commencing the 25th of September. If successful at first round an assessment will be completed to aid and support a 2nd stage interview. The preferred candidates will then meet with the Chair of the Board.

As an inclusive employer we want to ensure that all candidates feel comfortable and are able to perform at their best during the interview. You\'ll have the opportunity to let us know of any reasonable adjustment or practical support needed when you apply.
