Head Receptionist / Reception Manager - Sherwood Dental Care

Sherwood Dental Care is a well-established, 8-surgery multi-disciplinary dental practice in the north of Nottingham. Based in a large detached property with convenient on-site parking, we are proud of our warm, friendly reputation within the community and our strong, supportive team culture.


We are now seeking an experienced and confident Head Receptionist / Reception Manager to oversee our busy reception team and ensure the smooth and professional running of our front-of-house operations. This is a full-time position, and salary will be dependent on experience.

About the Role

As the face of our practice, you will play a key leadership role in delivering exceptional patient service and ensuring operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will include:


Leading, supporting, and developing the reception team Overseeing day-to-day reception operations, rotas, and workflows Maintaining high standards of patient care and communication Managing appointment diaries across a multi-specialist environment Handling escalated patient queries with professionalism and empathy Ensuring front-of-house processes run smoothly and efficiently Collaborating closely with clinicians, Practice Manager, and wider team

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a strong, experienced candidate who can confidently manage a busy reception area. You should have:


Previous experience in a senior reception role, ideally within dental, medical, or a similar patient-facing environment Proven leadership or supervisory experience Excellent communication and organisational skills Experience managing diaries, patient enquiries, and complex scheduling A calm, professional approach with a genuine passion for patient care Strong IT, administration, and multi-tasking abilities
