We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Japanese cuisine, specialising in sushi preparation and presentation. Responsibilities
Prepare a variety of sushi dishes with precision and attention to detail, ensuring authentic flavours and presentation standards are met
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station in accordance with food safety regulations
Select fresh ingredients for sushi preparation, including fish, vegetables, and rice
Assist in menu development by suggesting new sushi recipes and presentation techniques
Ensure all food is prepared efficiently to meet service times during busy periods
Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold hygiene standards within the kitchen environment
Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs for replenishment
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation, particularly in Japanese cuisine or sushi-making
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, meal preparation, and food safety protocols
Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Good understanding of serving procedures within a hospitality setting
Culinary qualification or relevant training in Japanese cuisine is advantageous
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
