About us:

Rodenhurst School provides individualised SEN education within a tailored therapeutic learning environment specialising in SEMH needs for up to 15 pupils.

We are a family feel school who have recently been rated Good in all areas by OFSTED and are proud of the strong bonds we have established to support our pupils and to have been recognised as encompassing Family Care's mission of 'significantly improving the lives of children and young people'.

Small student numbers mean we can give our very best to the young people who come through our doors every day, whether that is a role model to look up to, or a safe person to trust. Here at Rodenhurst we support our pupils not only in their education but in discovering their potential and working towards meaningful, aspirational futures.

Our school is located in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, with stunning views of the Wrekin and within easy reach of both Telford and Shrewsbury.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and direction to the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and care

Lead and support a skilled multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous development

Ensure compliance with safeguarding, SEND legislation, and all regulatory requirements

Champion inclusive education and the individual needs of every pupil

Work closely with parents, carers, local authorities, and external agencies

Develop the school's vision and long-term strategy in line with our values

Identify problems and barriers to school effectiveness, and develop school improvement plans that are realistic, timely, costed and suited to the school's context

Monitor progress towards achieving the school's aims and objectives

Manage financial resources appropriately, efficiently and effectively

What We're Looking For:

Proven leadership experience within an SEN setting

Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and inclusive teaching practices

Excellent communication, team-building, and organisational skills

A compassionate, child-centred approach and a commitment to positive behaviour support

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and leadership qualifications (e.g., NPQH) desirable

What we offer:

Salary:

up to 55,000 per annum

Company pension

Health & wellbeing programme

Sick pay after qualifying period

Additional Information:

Full time Permanent; Monday to Friday

37.5 hours per week, term time plus 5 inset days

Pay 40 weeks, plus 12 weeks holiday pay, totalling 52 weeks, annualised and paid in 12 equal monthly payments

Family Care is committed to safeguarding and always promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects the post holder to share this commitment. To uphold this responsibility, we follow Safer Recruitment practices to ensure we select suitable candidates.
