Are you an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to take the next step in your career? Medivet Welling is excited to offer an opportunity for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our welcoming and supportive team. As Head RVN, you will play a central role in ensuring the highest standards of patient and client care, while creating a positive, collaborative environment for the whole team.



At Medivet Welling, you will work alongside a committed Lead Veterinary Surgeon, a dedicated nursing team, and practice support staff. Your role will include overseeing the day-to-day running of the practice from a nursing perspective, supporting and developing your team, and ensuring the smooth delivery of exceptional clinical care. We are looking for someone who is proactive, well-organised, and confident in supporting nurse consultations, Schedule 3 procedures, and mentoring colleagues at different stages of their careers.

Role Accountabilities

Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Medivet. That's the care for our patients, our clients and for each other - we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.

In this role you will:

Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients. Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity. Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities. Deliver patient monitoring and care. Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team. Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care. Dispense and check medication. Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards. Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse. Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care. Experienced in working effectively as part of a team. Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency. Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
