Position Overview



The Head Waiter (or Head Waitress) plays a key leadership role in the front-of-house team, ensuring that guests receive exceptional service while coordinating and supervising waitstaff. This role involves managing daily floor operations, training staff, and acting as the primary link between the restaurant management, kitchen, and service teams.

Key Responsibilities



Guest Service & Experience

Greet and seat guests, ensuring a warm and professional welcome. Supervise service standards to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.

Team Leadership & Training

Lead and motivate waitstaff during service shifts. Train new staff on service standards, menus, and customer interaction. Monitor staff performance, providing feedback and support.

Operations & Coordination

Liaise with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service. Manage table assignments, reservations, and special guest requests. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Administrative Duties

Assist in staff scheduling and shift planning. Monitor stock levels of service items (cutlery, menus, linen, etc.). Support management with daily reports and service evaluations.

Skills & Qualifications



Proven experience as a waiter/waitress, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or senior role. Strong leadership and communication skills. Excellent knowledge of food, beverage, and service etiquette. Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
