Job Description

We're looking for someone to join our Heading team at Lisi Aerospace Rugby, working in a fast-paced environment producing aerospace fasteners working across both hot and cold forming processes.

The role involves setting and operating heading machines to tight tolerances, This is a hands-on role in a dynamic environment, ideal for someone with a strong mechanical mindset and a passion for quality and manufacturing.

Grade/Salary:

Grade 3, competitive salary inclusive of night shift premium

Shift Pattern:

Night shift, 4 on, 4 off. 6pm-6am

Pension:

Up to 5% matched pension contribution

PRP Payments of up to 1000 paid twice annually

Department Description

Working in a fast paced manufacturing environment producing precision fasteners for the highly regulated Aerospace industry with a minimum of variation. This hands-on role requires a high level of troubleshooting, working on your own initiative, not afraid to ask for help, hard working, not afraid to get your hands dirty. be a team worker, versatile, ability to problem solve and to multi-task. Engineering knowledge and experience is advantageous.



The main job purpose of a Heading Operator is to set and operate production equipment eg. Big Carlo, to achieve all company targets and standards.

The role is currently working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, night shift.

Participate in the development and promotion of the HSE culture

Be exemplary in terms of health, safety and the environment, in particular by:

Respecting and ensuring respect for the instructions and rules established in the

field of health, safety and the environment (in particular the LISI golden rules)
Immediately correcting, whenever possible, or reporting to his or her superiors and/ or the HSE department, any malfunction or risky situation in the fields of health, safety and environmental protection

Implementing preventive actions to reduce the environmental footprint and control health and safety risks

Participate, upon request, in analyses (of risks, incidents) and HSE working groups related to his/her professional scope

Be familiar with the main health and safety risks and the main environmental impacts relating to the scope of his/her work

Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives

To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact

To manage production machine(s) in such a way as to ensure that quality is maintained to the standards required by the company.

Make sure that the necessary calibrated inspection equipment is present in your working area, ensuring that correct measuring equipment is used and calibrated and approved for production use.

Participate and engage in the PSM1 meetings, reporting any ongoing and long term problems you encounter.

Perform routine running adjustments such as wear compensation, tool changes and wheel dressing etc...

Check product during the run and complete appropriate SPC/Auto-control defined in the control plan

Maintain the flow of product to other machines/processes

Work to relevant operational procedures, technical specifications and parameters of process and complete all relevant paperwork i.e. Route Cards, Auto Control Forms and SPC etc...

To set within a reasonable time limit the machine(s) ready for the start of the next batch

Make sure of an efficient start of production ensuring product traceability is maintained at all times i.e. proper tins, tagging documents and calibrated inspection equipment.

Carry out first line maintenance in line with Preventative Maintenance.

Report all breakdowns to your Cell Leader.

Keep the machine(s) and surrounding work area clean and safe condition reporting any hazards to the Cell Leader.

Conduct a thorough and complete shift handover at the start and end of your shift to ensure the seamless continuation of production that is expected.

Inform Cell Leaders when encountering technical or quality problems.

Maintain an open and willing attitude towards training and learning new processes and machines/equipment so as to better utilise your time and skills.

Provide training to new and inexperienced operators.

Any other ad-hoc duties as required.
