The Governing Body is seeking a Headteacher who will lead with strategic clarity, a developmental approach to teaching and learning, and a deep belief in the capabilities of every young person.


Hollywater School is a well-established all-through special school for children and young people aged 4 to19 with complex needs. The ongoing changes in demographic and numbers on roll, requires a leader with vision and ambition.


Purpose-built and set in beautiful surroundings, Hollywater is entering a significant and exciting phase of development and boasts a range of new facilities including: an immersive room, medical suite, post 16 building and forest school.





We are seeking a Headteacher who can:


Lead strategically with confidence and clarity

Shape and deliver an ambitious long-term vision for Hollywater Use evidence, research and best practice to drive thoughtful, sustainable improvement Build strong systems aligned with high expectations, care and consistency




Develop teaching, learning and curriculum across all phases:

Strengthen and unify practice, building on strong primary foundations Support and grow secondary and Post-16 teaching, where consistency is a development priority Create conditions where staff feel supported, confident and equipped to improve practice Ensure curriculum pathways are purposeful, engaging and matched to pupils' needs




Build a cohesive, motivated and happy staff team:

Bring people together around shared purpose and values Strengthen culture, wellbeing and professional development Develop leadership at all levels




Work collaboratively with families and the wider community:

Build trust and strong relationships with parents and carers Develop partnerships with FE providers, local services and the Bordon community Be an active part of the special headteacher and local headteacher communities

Selection Procedure


The shortlist will be drawn up and the selection process will take place during the week beginning 12 January 2026. Further details will be sent to those candidates called for interview.


Applicants will be advised after the shortlisting date whether they have been successful.


Interview dates: 27 & 28 January 2026.


Start Date: Summer term 2026
