We are launching our first Virtual School in partnership with Bmindful, a multi-disciplinary care and education provider supporting children in residential care. This exciting new project is designed to provide high-quality, trauma-informed virtual education to some of the most vulnerable pupils, supporting their development and well-being in line with their EHCPs.
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Headteacher to lead the development, registration, and operational launch of our new independent virtual school. This is an opportunity to shape an innovative service from the ground up, with the full support of a collaborative, mission-driven organisation.
The Role
As Headteacher, you will:
Lead the development and successful DfE registration of the virtual school.
Design and implement a curriculum that supports therapeutic, trauma-informed, and inclusive education.
Recruit and manage a skilled staff team including SEN Teachers, Business Officers, Admin, and HR staff.
Ensure compliance with all Independent School Standards and Ofsted regulations.
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENCo until those roles are separately recruited.
Collaborate closely with Bmindful's clinical and care teams to create a multi-disciplinary approach to education.
Establish and oversee robust quality assurance processes and staff development programmes.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and management of a new virtual education provision.
Staff recruitment, induction, supervision, and development.
Curriculum design and implementation.
Oversight of safeguarding, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
Quality assurance and school improvement planning.
Developing innovative education tools, including interactive video technology and AI-assisted platforms.
What We're Looking For
NPQH and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Significant experience in leadership within special or independent schools
Strong knowledge of Independent School Standards and DfE/Ofsted regulations
Experience with EHCPs and supporting children with complex needs including ASC, ADHD, and trauma
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
A passion for creating inclusive, nurturing, and high-impact educational environments
