In 2020 LCP launched our Heath Analytics practice, providing analytical and research services for organisations across the life sciences and healthcare industries. Our team brings together clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, health economists, bioinformaticians and health data scientists alongside our established actuarial, analytics and technology teams to deliver new solutions to the fundamental challenges in health. Our team\xe2\x80\x99s mission is to help move health systems from importers of illness to exporters of health and to support our clients to deliver value to patients. We have already developed a track record for leading approaches to real world evidence generation, health economic modelling, evidence strategy, medical affairs and genetics. We have been growing the team quickly in response to the demand we are seeing for the service offerings we have developed and are now looking for a Real-World Evidence (RWE) consultant to join our team of experts and strengthen our capabilities in this area. You will play a key role in the design and analysis of studies using real world healthcare data, such as electronic healthcare records, registries and claims databases. We are looking for someone who can bring a high level of scientific rigor and who is motivated to work at the cutting edge of methods and RWE study designs. Our Health Analytics work: LCP\xe2\x80\x99s Health Analytics team works across the healthcare and life sciences markets, combining health expertise with innovative approaches from our work in other sectors to tackle leading health issues. Some examples of the types of projects that we undertake for our clients include:

  • Real world evidence studies using electronic healthcare records, registries, biobanks and databases
  • Advanced study designs including external comparator arms and quantitative bias analysis
  • Innovative approaches to identifying and quantifying unmet need and inequalities
  • Manuscript writing
What will you be doing? As Consultant in LCP\xe2\x80\x99s Health Analytics team you will be involved in a diverse range of projects, covering both client and non-client work. Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Demonstrate a very high level of expertise in epidemiology, statistics and/or data science
  • Lead and contribute to all stages of projects including:
    • Proposal development
    • Protocol development
    • Project management
    • Execution of analyses
    • Quality control
    • Report writing
  • Oversee and review the work of other members of the team and support their development, including:
    • Contribute to team training
    • Contribute to the development of internal resources, tools and processes
    • Contribute to developing advanced methods capabilities in this space (e.g. machine learning, quantitative bias analysis)
    • Demonstrate and develop your expertise by contributing to thought leadership activities
What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?
  • Demonstrable experience in a RWE role, with consultancy experience preferable
  • Minimum of a 2:1 degree in a numerate or science subject, and a health-related Masters degree or PhD
  • A very strong grounding in relevant methods with demonstrated experience in conceptualising and delivering previous studies and projects
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex issues to others
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • You are expected to have excellent Microsoft Office skills and be highly competent in the use of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, programming experience in R or Python is desirable
  • Experience in business development activities, including proposal writing and pitch presentations, is desirable
  • You should enjoy working as part of a growing dynamic team, and be comfortable leading on day-to-day project activities
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative in every aspect of your work and be creative in developing original solutions to problems
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage your work and coordinate the work of multi-disciplinary teams, multi-tasking across client projects, project management of client engagements, and the mentoring and coordination of junior members of the team
