Carry out risk assessments, identify hazards, and recommend risk reduction measures.
Develop, review, and amend Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for projects.
Establish and maintain safe operational procedures across all work activities.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Ensure working practices are safe, legally compliant, and aligned with best practice.
Prepare health and safety strategies, policies, and internal procedures.
Deliver and assist with training sessions for managers and employees on HSE issues.
Keep detailed records of inspections, audits, and investigations, producing reports with recommendations.
Lead or support incident investigations and compile follow-up reports.
Stay up to date with HSE legislation, guidance, and industry developments, ensuring company compliance.
Produce management reports and safety bulletins for internal communication.
Oversee safe installation and use of equipment, ensuring fitness for purpose.
Manage safe disposal of hazardous substances, including asbestos and chemicals.
Provide expert advice on specialist HSE areas (e.g., fire safety, hazardous substances, occupational health, machinery safeguarding, and noise control).
Support the development and implementation of environmental policies and sustainability initiatives.
Deliver behavioural safety training and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
Support FF&E (Fixtures, Fittings & Equipment) for project-based activities.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Site Managers, and HSE professionals to maintain high standards of safety across all operations.
Requirements
NEBOSH / IOSH / Additional specialist qualifications desirable
Full UK driving licence
Ability to pass Drugs & Alcohol (D&A) testing and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) vetting
Eligibility to live and work in the UK
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present and explain HSE processes clearly to diverse audiences.
Skilled in negotiation and influencing to promote and enforce safety standards.
Collaborative approach, demonstrating patience, diplomacy, and adaptability.
Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret complex information and present it simply and accurately.
Investigative mindset with strong attention to detail.
Proficient IT user, supporting reporting, analysis, and communication.
Flexible and adaptable, with a sound understanding of regulations and legal compliance.
