About the role
Reporting to the H&S and Compliance Manager with a dotted line into the General Manager you will drive safe and legal processes and practices within the Distribution Centre (DC).
You will support the General Manager to develop and manage plans ensuring H&S policies and the H&S agenda are well communicated. You will also keep up to date and accurate records and support the central team by reviewing and maintaining the business continuity plan for your DC, thus ensuring plans for emergencies are suitable and sufficient.
You will be responsible for
To ensure the daily operations are carried out in a safe and proper manner by:
The implementation of and adherence to all Group Health and Safety Policies
Maintaining and updating own awareness of changes in Health and Safety legislation and ensuring that the site complies with these changes
Providing ongoing Health and Safety advice / training to all managers and colleagues
Invested in the authority by the general manager to ensure that all unsafe practises are halted and all new activities are fully risk assessed before being implemented
You will need
Previous experience working within a distribution centre in a similar role
NEBOSH general certificate in Health and Safety, (HACCP level 3 would be advantageous too)
Working knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene legislation
Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
Experience of delivering training to groups and individuals
Ability to communicate at all levels
Develop strong working relationships with HSE ensuring your DC and the company is properly represented at all times
