We are recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the H&S Team who are responsible for developing and implementing a safety management system to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and Imperial policies. On this occasion we are seeking an experienced candidate to provide health and safety guidance to the Maintenance and Building Operations Teams. You will be required to have a comprehensive understanding of the principles and methodologies related to mechanical, electrical, and fabric maintenance.
What you would be doing

You will be responsible for supporting relevant departments in planning, organising, controlling, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment. This will involve developing and undertaking compliance audits and inspections, providing expert technical advice on health & safety matters, and collaborating with various internal teams to promote a safe working environment across a diverse portfolio.
You will be required to develop and undertake compliance audits and inspections to maintain standards and promote best practices, establishing action plans and making recommendations as needed. You aill also produce management reports and information including performance against KPIs on health & safety related service delivery, compliance, and best practices.
What we are looking for

NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
Graduate Membership IOSH
Practical application of health & safety risk management in a complex operational environment
Experience of formulating Codes of Practice and Safe Operating Procedures
Review and auditing of safety management compliance
Experience with working collaboratively with staff at all levels and alongside organisations in shared premises to deliver high standards of health & safety practice
Performing risk assessments, delivering training, accident investigation, policy formulation, and inspections/auditing
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead; communicate effectively and clearly within a large and complex organisation
Analytical skills, with a structured and methodical approach. Able to simultaneously manage multiple varied activities and highly organised.
Ability to undertake effective and thorough risk assessments, accident investigations, inspections, and audits. Preparation and formulation of appropriate reports and action plans.
Flexible approach to working and willingness to work across all Imperial campus locations and sites
