We are seeking a Safety Specialist to join our team for a full time Maternity Cover. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring a safe working environment across all operations. This position involves assessing safety protocols, conducting training sessions, and implementing safety measures to mitigate risks. The Safety Specialist will be responsible for fostering a culture of safety within the organisation while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The role will be maternity cover, our current Safety Specialist will work with you until the end of September to help guide you until her Maternity and get used to Target Fire Systems as a company. This role is currently a temporary maternity cover role, however this may be extended to a permanent position.

Responsibilities
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards. Along with all safety documentation needed for the business and sites.
Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, including root cause analysis and recommendations for improvement.
Provide training and guidance to employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving workplace safety and reducing incidents.
Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation, ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities.
Respond to safety-related inquiries and incidents promptly, providing first aid when necessary.
Skills
Strong report writing skills to document findings clearly and effectively.
Proficient in root cause analysis to identify underlying issues contributing to safety incidents.
Certification in first aid is highly desirable, enabling immediate response in emergency situations.
Excellent communication skills to convey safety information effectively across all levels of the organisation.
Strong analytical skills to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
