Apprentice

Year 1 - Salary \xc2\xa311,262.00 per annum

Year 2 - National Minimum Wage for age

The Corporate Health & Safety Team is dedicated towards providing a comprehensive service that is professional, ethical and high quality to our clients in order that they can achieve the highest standards of health and safety excellence and compliance.

The Health and Safety Team\'s focus is delivery of high quality services. A combination of audit, compliance monitoring, support, investigations and training are provided to clients to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties.

The successful candidate will be required to do the following:

Provide a support function whilst also learning on the job. The role will involve dealing across all aspects of the team roles in order to achieve understanding of health and safety issues across a wide range of services.

Support on a range of activities in order to learn the basics of Health and Safety.

Learn about the implementation of the health and safety management system framework, statutory requirements for health, safety and welfare to the Council and clients can demonstrate compliance.

To be part of various projects, research and investigations

Candidates will be required to have qualifications in English, Maths & ICT.

Candidates should also be able to demonstrate relevant experience including:

  • A broad understanding of the operation of an office.
  • Conducting research, writing reports and working in a team environment.
  • Collating of information, reports and producing accurate work.
  • Writing: display good level of ability in letter writing; clear reports on a wide range of planning issues; exhibit a clear & comprehensible writing style in line with Plain English principles.
  • Verbal communication: effective in difficult situations.
  • Presentation skills: effective ability.
  • Negotiation: good level of proficiency; clear listening, questioning and reasoning ability.
