We're looking for a proactive and driven Health and Safety Co-Ordinator to join our team and help shape the safety culture of our sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact and take ownership of the Health and Safety function.
Working closely with the Group General Manager, you'll play a vital role in upholding legislative and internal standards, reducing risk, preventing accidents and fostering a culture of awareness, prevention, and accountability.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations across all departments.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
Develop and maintain risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Identify potential hazards and recommend preventative measures.
Participate in monthly meetings, presenting relevant Health & Safety data
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and suggest corrective actions.
Ensure that all health and safety documentation is up to date (e.g., policies, procedures, audits).
Deliver health and safety training and induction sessions to staff and contractors.
Act as the key point of contact and liaise with external health and safety authorities and ensure compliance with all legislation.
Maintain records of safety-related incidents and produce statistics for management.
Support the development of emergency procedures and evacuation plans.
Ensure appropriate PPE is provided and used properly.
Stay up to date with new legislation and industry best practices.
Essential Criteria:
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent
3+ Years of experience in a similar health and safety role.
Demonstratable experience of carrying out Risk Assessments
Excellent communication skills
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
Proficient in the use of MS Office software
