Construction Health & Safety Manager
with a strong grasp of UK legislation and site safety compliance? I'm working with a respected main contractor who is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to lead and enhance their
health, safety, and compliance
standards based within a prestigious manufacturing facility in Derby, overseeing site-based project activity.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business at a pivotal time, offering long-term progression and involvement within high-profile site, working for an organisation with links to a multinational property consultancy.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage health and safety procedures in line with CDM Regulations 2015, HSE guidelines, and company policy
Lead site safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple construction projects
Ensure full compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, including all site documentation and statutory records
Oversee the review and approval of RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
Investigate RIDDOR-reportable incidents, near misses, and provide root cause analysis with actionable outcomes
Deliver on-site HSE training, including Toolbox Talks, inductions, and refresher sessions
Act as a key advisor to site managers, project leads, and subcontractors to drive a positive safety culture
Liaise with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), building control, and external auditors
Manage safety documentation including COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, and statutory inspections
Minimum 5 years' experience in Health & Safety Management within the construction sector (commercial or mixed-use developments preferred)
NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (essential)
NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (advantageous)
Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety Law, including CDM 2015, HSAW Act, Building Safety Act
Experience working with main contractors, subcontractors, and construction supply chains
Comfortable producing and delivering training, reports, audits, and compliance records
Membership with IOSH or IIRSM (TechIOSH, GradIOSH or CMIOSH)
Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders across all levels
Proficient in health & safety reporting tools and construction-specific software
