We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a family run Civils and groundwork team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing effective solutions to mitigate risks.
Duties
Develop and maintain Risk Assessments and Method statements for every project.
Conduct site audits on a weekly basis
Implement training programs for employees on health and safety practices, including first aid procedures.
Perform root cause analysis of incidents and accidents to prevent future occurrences.
Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance, incidents, and compliance status.
Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organisation.
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to health and safety.
Experience
Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations.
Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
Certification in first aid is highly desirable.
