What you'll do
You will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining a safe and compliant college environment across all campuses, whilst developing and embedding health and safety best practice.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and developing a small Health and Safety team
Working proactively throughout the college to improve health and safety compliance and culture
Collaborating with senior leaders and curriculum teams to ensure health and safety practices are understood and embedded throughout the college.
Developing and implementing Health and Safety procedures in line with relevant legislation and College standard.
Who we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint our new Health and Safety Manager, who will continue to build up on previous success whilst in bedding a strong health and safety culture throughout the organisation. You will be an experienced health and safety professional who enjoys challenging work, achieving successes and working with a diverse community of stakeholders. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, applicable best practices and building safety requirements. This role will require you to support colleagues from across the college with the development and imbedding of health and safety best practice. As the Health & Safety Manager you will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to implement effective safety management systems
You'll have sound technical knowledge with a clear understanding of health and safety management preferably with experience in FM or public sector. You'll hold a NEBOSH general certificate in OH and Safety with strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Nottingham College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational general further education college situated in Nottingham. It is a 16 plus with five different sites in the centre of Nottingham. The latest Ofsted report identified 14,029 learners at the school, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.
The college was established in 1998 through a merger of smaller educational centres in the Nottingham area. Further merging has happened, most recently early in 2017, when the college merged together with Central College Nottingham.
