Role Purpose


The HSE Coordinator will lead and coordinate Solidcor's Health, Safety and Environmental functions, ensuring our manufacturing facility operates safely, compliantly, and in line with our Integrated Management System (IMS). You will champion a proactive safety culture, support operational teams, and ensure our people have the safest possible environment to work in.

This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and central to maintaining the high standards expected within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities



Develop, implement, and maintain HSE programmes tailored to a manufacturing environment Conduct risk assessments across production, machinery use, material handling and site operations Inspect equipment, machinery, tools, and work areas to identify unsafe conditions Identify hazards and implement structured corrective and preventative actions Coordinate and deliver mandatory HSE training for all employees and contractors Lead and participate in investigations into incidents, near misses, and accidents, determining root causes and actions Support the management of workers' compensation claims and provide accurate reporting Prepare HSE performance reports, statistics, and updates for senior leadership Maintain compliance with HSE legislation, ensuring Solidcor stays ahead of regulatory changes Facilitate HSE meetings and toolbox talks Conduct regular HSE audits to ensure compliance with IMS and manufacturing standards Raise awareness of HSE issues through clear communication, signage, and training Provide guidance to line managers on HSE best practice (fire safety, hazardous substances, machinery safeguarding, noise control, waste management) Drive continuous improvement programmes across production and operations Develop internal HSE policies, procedures, and safe systems of work Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections to ensure standards are upheld Recommend improvements to working practices and ensure legislative compliance Keep accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, and training Ensure safe installation, operation, and maintenance of production equipment Oversee safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials used in the manufacturing process Liaise with regulatory bodies including HSE, Fire Authority, and Environmental Agencies

Education & Experience



IOSH qualification - essential NEBOSH General Certificate (or higher) - desirable Previous experience in an HSE role within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment - highly desirable Experience working with machinery, equipment inspections, and hands-on operations beneficial

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
