Summary
Preston North End Community and Education Trust (PNECET) seeks a
Health and Wellbeing Coach
to join our expanding Health and Wellbeing department. The successful candidate will deliver a range of programmes designed to tackle health inequalities, promote physical activity, improve mental wellbeing, and reduce social isolation across Preston and the surrounding area.
Guided by our strapline Inspiring Change, Improving Health, Enhancing Lives, the Health and Wellbeing Coach will support individuals and families to make sustainable lifestyle changes through engaging, inclusive sessions.
Based at
Deepdale Stadium
, the home of Preston North End, this is a
full-time role
offering a
salary of 24,000 - 26,000
, depending on experience. The position is
fixed-term until June 2027
, with benefits including a laptop, pension scheme, up to 35 days of annual leave, and two PNEFC season cards.
Responsibilities
Deliver a variety of health and wellbeing sessions, workshops, and physical activity programmes for adults, families, and older adults.
Lead on the delivery of multiple community programmes, including Adults and Family Healthy Weight, Cancer Prehabilitation (Prehab), Creating Connections, Sporting Memories, Walking Football (including Parkinson's sessions), and the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme.
Motivate and empower participants to adopt healthier behaviours and maintain positive lifestyle changes.
Work collaboratively with partners such as GPs, social prescribers, schools, and community organisations to recruit participants and ensure effective signposting and follow-up support.
Collect, record, and report participant data accurately to meet monitoring, evaluation, and funding requirements.
Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of new initiatives in line with PNECET's strategic priorities.
Represent PNECET professionally within the community, promoting inclusion, health, and wellbeing for all.
Requirements
Degree in a relevant field (Health, Sport, Exercise, Nutrition, or similar) - desirable* Five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above - essential* Level 2 or 3 Fitness/Personal Training qualification - essential* First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications (or willingness to obtain) - essential* Experience delivering community-based health or wellbeing programmes - essential* Knowledge and experience of behaviour change techniques and working with vulnerable or hard-to-reach groups - essential* Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire participants of all ages and abilities - essential* Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills - essential* Knowledge of local health priorities, inequalities, and community demographics in Preston - desirable*
