Previous experience in a similar role would be preferable, but training will also be provided.
Principal Responsibilities of the Role:
To provide or assist in the personal care and needs of residents, respecting and promoting their dignity and independence at all times
Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and the toilet.
Help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence; help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
Care for resident's temporarily sick and needing special care with minor dressings and bed nursing.
Help in the promotion of mental and physical activities of residents through talking with them, taking them out, sharing with them activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and other recreations.
Make and change beds; tidy rooms and do general cleaning; empty commodes.
Inspect, launder and mend residents clothing.
Set tables and trays; serve meals; feed residents who may need help; prepare meals and wash up; tidy and clear the dining room.
Answer: emergency bells, the door and the telephone, and greet visitors.
Read reports; take part in staff and residents meetings and in training activities as directed.
Other duties that might be required to assist in the smooth running of the Home.
