Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our small team based in Formby and Netherton. In this role, you will provide essential support to our fabulous clients in their own homes, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.

The job is for varied hours to cover holidays and sickness. These will be offered out to you on a weekly basis. Some alternate weekend availability is essential. There is also the opportunity to be part of the weekend on-call system.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times. Help with meal preparation and feeding as required. Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff. Engage with patients through conversation and activities to promote mental well-being. Follow care plans as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring personalised care for each of our clients. Drive patients to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring safe transportation.

Qualifications

Previous experience in home care or a similar role is preferred but not essential. Strong communication skills in English are required to interact effectively with patients and colleagues. Basic IT skills for maintaining patient records and documentation. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated. A valid driving licence is essential. Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
