We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in the comfort of their own home. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with daily living activities, ensuring that each service users receives personalised care according to their individual care plans. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in their care.
Duties
- Assist service users with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, moving and handling, medication, preparing meals and feeding.
- To be able to have the skills to engage with the service user for a long period of time by attending social inclusions calls which include, shopping, going for a walk, playing games and puzzles, activities of their choice and may have to accompany the induvial to appointments.
- Reading and following the individuals care plans to tailor each service user's care needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to service users, promoting a positive environment.
- Monitor and report changes in services users' conditions to the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate records when documenting data
- Communicate effectively with service users, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with care plans and home care practices is advantageous.
- Strong command of English for effective communication with service users, colleagues and must be able to read and write in English. - Applicant must be able to speak either Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu
- A valid driving licence is preferred for roles requiring travel between locations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
