Due to the nature of community home care, a

full UK Driving Licence and consistent access to your own reliable vehicle is an essential requirement

for this position, enabling you to travel between client visits.

Key Responsibilities:



As a Healthcare Assistant, your duties will be varied and tailored to the individual needs of each service user as outlined in their care plan. This will typically include:

Personal Care:

Assisting individuals with daily routines such as washing, dressing, showering, bathing, oral hygiene, and continence care.

Medication Support:

Prompting, administering, and assisting with medication as prescribed, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Mobility Assistance:

Supporting individuals with safe moving and handling, including transfers and using mobility aids where necessary.

Meal Preparation & Nutrition:

Preparing nutritious meals, assisting with feeding if required, and encouraging healthy eating habits.

Companionship:

Providing friendly conversation, emotional support, and engaging individuals in activities to combat loneliness and promote well-being.

Light Domestic Tasks:

Assisting with light household duties to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.

Errands & Appointments:

Supporting individuals with essential errands such as grocery shopping, collecting prescriptions, and accompanying them to appointments.

Monitoring & Reporting:

Observing and accurately recording changes in a service user's condition or circumstances, and reporting any concerns promptly to the appropriate team members.

Promoting Independence:

Empowering individuals to maintain their independence and dignity at all times, respecting their choices and preferences.

What We're Looking For:



Essential:

A full UK Driving Licence and consistent access to your own reliable vehicle. A genuine desire to provide high-quality, compassionate care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals and their families. Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility. Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team. A flexible and adaptable approach to work, understanding the varying needs of individuals and different shift times. Previous experience in a care setting is desirable but

not essential

, as full, comprehensive,

paid training

will be provided.

Important Note on DBS Check:

An Enhanced DBS check with Adults' Barred List check is required for this role. While our client covers the initial cost, the total amount will be recouped from your salary in two equal instalments (half from your first monthly salary, half from your second). If you have a relevant DBS on the Update Service, a new one will not be required.
