Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily activities, fostering a supportive environment for those in your care.

Duties

Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times. Help implement and monitor care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to provide updates on care and address concerns. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required. Drive to various locations if necessary for home visits or patient transport. Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in healthcare practices.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required. A valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving travel between locations. Familiarity with creating and following care plans is beneficial. A compassionate approach towards patient care, demonstrating empathy and patience at all times.
