Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality personal care and assisting with daily living activities while ensuring the comfort and well-being of our clients.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming needs. Support clients in daily activities such as meal preparation, feeding, and mobility assistance. Implement and follow individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes to the healthcare team. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Drive to clients' homes as required, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled visits. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.

Skills

Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues. Experience in home care or a similar environment is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to empathise and connect with patients on a personal level. Ability to follow care plans meticulously while being adaptable to changing patient needs. Competent driving skills for transportation between client locations when necessary. Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and communication is an advantage.
