Working alongside our experienced team, we are looking for a motivated and skilled healthcare assistant for 18 hours per week who loves the challenge of working in general practice.
We are GP teaching practice with a dedicated team committed to treat minor ailments, as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues for Brackley and the surrounding area. We have 6 partners, 5 salaried/locum GPs in addition to 13 staff in the Nursing Team and Urgent Care Unit for a 16000 patient population.

MAIN DUTIES:
The role of the Healthcare Assistant is varied and fulfilling. An opportunity to run clinics including phlebotomy, minor illness clinic triage, NHS health checks and more.
Working under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager and strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.

Simple and complex wound care
Health checks
Insurance medicals & other related documentation
ECG recording
Phlebotomy
Supporting GP in Family Planning clinics
Chaperoning duties
Blood Pressure Checks
Flu Clinic immunisations*
B12 immunisation*
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/Nurses
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor surgery clinics
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
The undertaking of administrative tasks where relevant to assist with practice audits and patient monitoring.
