Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable

Health Care Assistant

to join our care team. The ideal candidate will hold

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care

, have practical experience in

moving and handling

, and possess a

valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle

. This role involves delivering high-quality personal care and support to individuals in their own homes or within residential settings, promoting independence and dignity at all times.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide personal care (washing, dressing, toileting) in a respectful and dignified manner. Assist clients with mobility needs, including

safe moving and handling

using hoists, slide sheets, and other equipment. Support clients with nutritional needs, including meal preparation and assistance with eating and drinking. Administer or prompt medication as per care plans and in line with company policy and training. Monitor and record changes in clients' health and well-being, reporting any concerns to senior staff. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients. Work collaboratively with families, external healthcare professionals, and team members. Ensure care is delivered in accordance with individual care plans and company policies. Accurately maintain records and documentation, including daily care logs and incident reports. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy and rights of clients at all times. Follow infection control procedures and maintain high standards of hygiene. Drive to and between clients' homes or care locations as required by the rota. Medication administration training. Experience working with clients with dementia, learning disabilities, or complex care needs. Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred care.

Requirements:



NVQ Level 2 or 3

in Health and Social Care (or equivalent). Valid

UK driving licence

and access to a

reliable vehicle

(essential). Proven experience in a care setting, including practical

moving and handling

skills. Up-to-date Moving and Handling training (or willingness to refresh). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to maintaining dignity, respect, and quality care. Flexible and reliable, with availability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays if required. Enhanced

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract

Pay: 12.21-20.00 per hour
