We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospital environments. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, along with hands-on experience in patient service and administrative support.
Responsibilities
Assist healthcare professionals in delivering patient care across multiple departments, including dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
Perform intake procedures and document patient information accurately in EHR systems.
Measure and record vital signs, ensuring timely updates to patient charts.
Administer medications as directed by medical staff while adhering to safety protocols.
Support patients with daily activities and provide compassionate care to enhance their comfort.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the clinic or hospital setting.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in patient care and medical procedures.
Skills
Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and ICD coding.
Familiarity with EHR systems for accurate documentation and patient tracking.
Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care.
Experience in various healthcare settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or trauma centers (Level I & II).
Basic life support certification is essential; additional certifications in geriatrics or pediatric intensive care (PICU) are advantageous.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures if applicable to the role.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping and medication administration.
