Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to healthcare professionals and assist in delivering high-quality patient care. You will work in various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals, ensuring that patients receive the best possible treatment and support throughout their healthcare journey.

Duties



Assist healthcare professionals with patient intake and assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories. Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and support during procedures. Maintain accurate patient records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with medical terminology and coding standards such as ICD coding. Support patients in understanding their treatment plans and provide exceptional patient service throughout their visit. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various specialties, including dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and more. Ensure a safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols and basic life support procedures. Assist with the preparation of patients for examinations or treatments in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Participate in the management of medical administrative tasks to streamline operations within the clinic or hospital.

Skills



Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assist in patient care. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to various specialties such as hospital medicine, urgent care, and surgical procedures. Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable. Proficiency in EHR systems for accurate documentation and record management. Ability to perform intake procedures efficiently while maintaining patient comfort. Experience with X-ray processes is a plus for roles involving diagnostic imaging support. Background in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) or operating room (OR) experience is advantageous. Excellent communication skills to foster positive interactions with patients and healthcare teams. A commitment to providing compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
