We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing essential support to medical professionals and delivering high-quality patient care across various clinical settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures, with experience in hospital or outpatient environments, including trauma centers and specialized units such as PICU or Geriatrics. Duties
Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and vital signs
Support physicians and nurses with procedures such as medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic life support
Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ICD coding
Monitor patient condition in inpatient, outpatient, or emergency settings, including Level I and Level II trauma centers
Aid in the management of patient flow within various departments such as medical-surgical units, internal medicine clinics, or emergency medicine areas
Support hospital staff with medical administrative tasks and ensure compliance with safety protocols
Assist in specialized areas such as dermatology clinics, urgent care units, or the PICU as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas and equipment
Skills
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology
Experience working within hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics; experience in Level I/II trauma centers or Geriatrics is a plus
Proficiency with EHR systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation
Ability to perform patient service functions including vital signs collection and basic intake procedures
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is preferred
Familiarity with medication administration protocols and emergency medicine procedures
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as hospital wards, ORs, or emergency departments
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and hospital experience are advantageous for certain roles
