Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in both care home and home care settings. Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Duties

Assist patients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals in mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times. Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, adhering to specific dietary needs. Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the healthcare team. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement and follow care plans tailored to individual needs. Engage with patients in meaningful conversations, providing companionship and emotional support. Drive patients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring they feel comfortable during transit. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively.

Experience

Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided. Familiarity with care plans and the ability to communicate effectively in English is crucial. Experience in home care or care home environments is advantageous. A valid driving licence is preferred for roles that require transportation of patients. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with patients and their families.

Pay: 586.08-1,212.16 per week
