To support the residents with all activities of daily living, to enable them to fully integrate in to the life of the home.

Principal Responsibilities:

To assist residents with all aspects of personal care including washing, dressing, showering, bathing, nail care, shaving, denture care and toilet usage.
Regularly monitor those who struggle with incontinence to ensure everything is done to maintain skin integrity. To monitor those who are at risk of skin and pressure damage.
*To serve meals in the dining room and in individuals room and provide appropriate support who need it over meal times, to ensure that their nutritional needs are being met.

*To physically assist residents to the main communal areas in the home in order to help them access activities that are available. To support residents with individual activities of their choice and ensure their safety when outside on the grounds

*To undertake a range of key worker duties for the allocated resident to take time to build up a rapport with that particular resident, reading through their care plan, sitting with the resident during activities or spending time as a one to one doing what they choose.

*Thoroughly document all interactions with residents maintaining confidentiality at all times.

To report and Document all health concerns or changes observed in residents to the team leader on shift or management as soon as possible.
Ensure the safe keeping of all residents belongings and take responsibility for personal inventory forms and update them as required. Aid in Christmas shopping and any other shopping required.
*To support residents in organising their belongings in their own space/rooms as they wish, whilst ensuring the room is safe and free from hazards

To work alongside other care staff to provide end of life care in a timely and sensitive manner.
To preform other duties as directed by management or by the team leaders in order to continue a smooth running of the care home, such as answering the door, greeting relatives and professionals.
Care Assistants will receive online and/or Practical training in:

Basic Life Support

Health & Safety

Infection Control

Falls Prevention

Fire

Food Hygiene

Complaints from Residents/relatives

COSHH

Care of the Dying

Confidentiality/ Whistleblowing

Mouth Care Assessment

A percentage of which is required to be completed in the 3 months initial probation at the beginning of employment and will be taken in to account as part of the probation review.

Remuneration package



Salary: Salary is paid monthly at 12.21-13.32 per hour.

Working hours: To be negotiated, but will include evening and weekend, depending on contract

Pension: 5% employee contribution, 7.5% employer contribution

Life assurance: Death in Service benefit equivalent to 2 years' salary

Holiday entitlement: 28 days per annum including public holidays pro rata

Additional benefits: Free use of on-site swimming pool, and leisure facilities

Free on-site parking
