We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, urgent care facilities, and hospitals. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient service skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
Duties
Assist healthcare professionals in providing patient care, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as directed.
Perform intake assessments and document patient information accurately in EHR systems.
Support dermatology, internal medicine, and emergency medicine practices by preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist with medical procedures and provide relevant information to patients.
Engage with patients of all ages, including geriatrics and pediatric populations, ensuring their comfort and understanding during visits.
Participate in the management of medical-surgical cases as well as support for level I and level II trauma centers.
Assist with X-ray procedures when necessary and provide support in the operating room (OR) setting as required.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred; hospital experience is a plus.
Knowledge of ICD coding, medical administrative support, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
Familiarity with urgent care protocols and clinic experience will be beneficial.
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient service excellence.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
