Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with daily living activities while ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of those in your care. Strong communication skills and a good command of English are essential for effectively interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming Support individuals in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities Help implement and follow care plans tailored to each patient's needs Monitor and record patient progress, reporting any changes to the healthcare team Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the care setting Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes Drive to patients' homes when required, ensuring safe transportation

Experience

Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with patients and colleagues A valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving travel between locations Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and communication is beneficial
