Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated

Care Assistant

to join our friendly team at Woodlands Nursing Home. You will play a key role in providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, supporting their dignity, independence, and wellbeing at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to residents, including assistance with washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility. Support residents with meals and drinks, encouraging good nutrition and hydration. Help residents maintain independence and participate in daily activities, hobbies, and social events. Monitor and record residents' physical and emotional wellbeing, reporting any changes to senior staff or nurses. Assist in the safe moving and handling of residents using appropriate equipment and techniques. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in line with health and safety and infection control policies. Build warm and trusting relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues. Uphold residents' confidentiality, dignity, and rights at all times. Follow the home's policies, procedures, and care plans to deliver consistent and high-quality care.

Skills and Qualities Required

Genuine passion for caring for older people and improving their quality of life. Kind, patient, and empathetic nature. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow instructions and record information accurately. Reliable, flexible, and able to work shifts (including weekends and evenings).

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience in a care or nursing home (desirable but not essential -- full training provided). NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (preferred or willingness to work towards it). Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety and safeguarding procedures (training available).
