We are currently seeking a caring and committed Healthcare Assistant to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and practical assistance to individuals in a variety of settings, including residential services and private homes. This role requires both hands-on care skills and emotional sensitivity to promote comfort, dignity, and overall wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene needs.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure nutritional requirements are met.
Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive engagement and safe interactions.
Provide companionship and emotional support, helping to create a warm and supportive environment.
Administer medication in line with care plans and under appropriate supervision.
Assist with manual handling and lifting tasks, following health and safety guidelines.
Support individuals living with dementia using appropriate communication and care techniques.
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to deliver coordinated care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reporting any concerns or changes promptly to relevant professionals.
Requirements
Previous experience in assisted living, healthcare, or childcare is highly desirable.
Knowledge of first aid procedures is an advantage.
Ability to carry out manual handling and lifting tasks where required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
A compassionate, patient, and person-centred approach to care.
Relevant qualifications or training in health or social care are beneficial.
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
