We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities, fostering a supportive environment for those in your care.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
Communicate effectively with patients and their families to understand their needs and preferences.
Support the implementation of individual care plans, ensuring that all aspects of patient care are met.
Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
Drive patients to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care tailored to each patient's needs.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when necessary.
A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting patients as needed.
Familiarity with care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
A compassionate approach towards patient care with a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those you support.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required.
