Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Skewen Medical Centre.

The role is between 18 - 28 hours (to be agreed).

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated, compassionate and skilled Health Care Assistant who must be a team player, have excellent communication skills, good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure. Experience of phlebotomy, ECG's is desirable although training will be given

Experience within GP practice is ideal but not essential.

Duties

Annual health checks HRT reviews Pill reviews Urinalysis POC CRP ECGs Venous Bloods BM Simple wound care (minor dressings, swabs, and suture removal) Baseline observations - oxygen saturations, pulse, temperature New patient Health checks Facilitating routine and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring INR clinic Assisting in coil clinic Assisting in Minor Surgery clinic Administering Flu Vaccines Administering B12 injections Organising minor surgery(including cluster patients), joint injection, coil, and implant clinics. Recalls for coil and implant patients. Claims for minor surgery

Skills

Highly organised. Experience in undertaking observations. Strong command of English, both spoken and written, to facilitate effective communication with patients and colleagues. Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families. Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating via electronic systems.
