Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate

Healthcare Assistant

to join our team at Wish Wellness. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the clinical team by providing high-quality care to patients, with a particular focus on

phlebotomy (taking blood samples)

. This role involves working closely with GPs, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of healthcare services.

Responsibilities

Perform

phlebotomy (blood taking)

in accordance with training and protocols. Prepare and label blood samples for laboratory testing. Accurately record patient data and update clinical records. Ensure proper infection control procedures are followed at all times. Measuring and recording vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, temperature). Supporting chronic disease management clinics (e.g., diabetes, hypertension). Assist with

health promotion activities

and lifestyle advice under clinical supervision. Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment, including the stocking and cleaning of clinical rooms. Support vaccination clinics (e.g., flu campaigns) as required. Provide a high level of patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.

Experience

Previous experience in phlebotomy

in a primary care or healthcare setting.

Phlebotomy certification

or evidence of formal training. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Competent IT skills and familiarity with clinical systems. Understanding of infection prevention and control and health & safety protocols.

Desirable:

Experience working in a

GP surgery or primary care

setting. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent). Experience assisting with immunisations or chronic disease monitoring.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 13.50-14.95 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
