At St Anne's Care Home in Southbourne, we're looking for compassionate Health Care Assistants to join our dedicated team.
Duties
As a Health Care Assistant, you will deliver high?quality care in line with each resident's individual care plan and WCN Care policies.
You will help promote independence, dignity, and choice--supporting residents to live the lifestyle they choose.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with personal care (washing, bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, hair care, dressing/undressing)
Supporting continence needs
Helping with meal times
Supporting our Domestic team with cleaning and laundry tasks when needed
Encouraging meaningful engagement and daily wellbeing
Assisting residents or clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Supporting the development and implementation of individualised care plans in collaboration with the wider care team
Providing companionship and emotional support to residents
Maintaining accurate records of care provided using IT systems
Communicating effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure consistent care delivery
Adhering to health and safety policies and procedures at all times
We are seeking someone who is:
Compassionate, patient, and kind
A good communicator and team player
Comfortable following instructions but also confident using their own initiative
Motivated to develop professionally through training and supervision
Experience isn't essential; we will support you every step of the way.
Skills
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when necessary
Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in providing quality care
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and completing documentation electronically
Driving licence is desirable
Experience working in a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential
Knowledge of care plans and the ability to adapt support accordingly
