Job summary
You will be joining a friendly and supportive clinical team of ANPs, practice nurses and health care assistants and we would expect you:
To provide support to and work in collaboration with the general practice team to meet the needs of our practice population.
to be responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision making within the parameters of their qualifications and role requirements.
To prepare consulting rooms for efficient consultation.
To perform some clinical tasks and support Doctors and Nurses with clinical procedures within the boundaries of their skill set.
To order and maintain clinical stock within clinical rooms and the main nursing cupboard.
Supported by the nursing team within the practice, the Health Care Assistant (HCA) will deliver care within the boundaries of their role and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols.

Main duties of the job
Main Responsibilities (according to training provided)
To prepare consulting rooms, monitor, order and maintain clinical stock levels and manage stock rotation as agreed with the practice nurses.
Health Checks Blood Pressure, Height, Weight, BMI
Health screening of patients with Pre-Diabetes, undertaking Health checks, Blood glucose monitoring, venepuncture, and diabetic foot checks.
ECGs
Monitor fridge temperatures in accordance with practice policy
Maintain necessary supplies in doctors rooms i.e. forms, specimen bottles etc.
To test urine specimens using appropriate equipment, manage DART requests and record as requested
Assist GPs and Nurses in providing minor-surgery sessions, coil fits and implanon insertions.
Removal of stitches and support practice nurses in delivering wound management for patients with non-complex wound care
To ensure that specimens brought in by patients or taken by doctors or nurses are ready for collection by the pathology service
Phlebotomy
