Job Description

Hear at Norwood House we are looking for individuals to Join our team to make a difference to our residents each and every day.

The Job will involve the following.

To be involved in supporting residents with their physical care and personal hygiene needs, ensuring that their independence is preserved and developed as far as possible in accordance with the rules regarding the delegation of nursing tasks and affording appropriate levels of privacy and dignity.

To contribute to effective communication with residents, their relatives, friends, professional helpers and other members of staff, ensuring the continuity of quality and safety in the provision of personal care services.

To encourage residents to maintain maximum independence, taking into account their physical and emotional condition.

To pass on to other staff, via individual records and daily reports, any incidents which may have relevance to the resident's individual care plans.

To become familiar with any changes in the resident's condition or situation within the home at the beginning of every shift.

To escort and assist residents, as required, in an around the Home.

To escort residents to obtain services including recreational, educational and leisure facilities within the community.

To assist with the provision of food and general housekeeping in accordance with the requirements of the Home.

To actively encourage residents and assist them to participate in any basic programme as advised by the relevant therapist.

To assist residents with mobility problems, utilising specialist equipment and personal care aids.

To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.

To participate in supervision, staff meetings & training activities as required.

To be responsible for maintaining and improving your own knowledge and skills through experience and training.

To undertake additional responsibilities as requested by the Home Manager following the successful completion of specific training and personal skills development.
